With flame detection you will be able to detect almost all types of flickering flames, not just hydrocarbon flames. This range comprises Singel IR spark detectors and Dual IR (IR2), Triple IR (IR3) and UV/IR2 flame detectors for both hazardous and non-hazardous industries.
Micropack
Flame detectors from Micropack are designed for hazardous industries where fast optical flame detection is critical and nuisance alarms are not an option. SenseTek is the distributor for Micropack in The Netherlands and we offer the whole range of detectors like the FDS301, FDS300 and the FDS303 the explosion-proof multi-spectrum IR flame detector
- The Single IR spark detector is suitable to view in dark machinery.
- The Dual IR is suitable for indoor applications.
- The Triple IR detector offers greater immunity with improved false alarm rejection, they also have a high tolerance to dust and (dirty) smoke.
- The UV/IR2 requires both the UV as well as the dual IR sensors to detect before a fire alarm is triggered thus offering the highest immunity.
Flame detectors are found in a wide array of process industries and applications.
Infra-red
Using flame detection infra-red (IR) sensing technology, flames can be detected through such elements as dust, steam and smoke; they are also immune to the effects of wind or draughts of air. With the addition of an ultra-violet (UV) sensor a flame detector becomes highly immune to false signals such as sunlight. The optical sensors within the detector receive the IR and/or UV radiation emitted by the flames. The processor within the detector analyses the optical sensor signal waveforms and determines if they represent flames and if so accepts them. If the signals do not match the internal algorithms for flames then they are considered to be false sources and rejected.
Relay contacts
The Micropack flame detectors give high immunity to false flame sources. They have internal self-test sources that check the detector’s operation when remotely instructed. They can operate on a conventional 2-wire (14-28 Vdc) fire systems or 4-20mA process control systems. Relay contacts are also available for Fire and Fault signals. The detectors’ operating modes can be user selected giving a choice of alarm currents, response times, latching or non-latching outputs and sensitivity. The detectors have a maximum ambient operating temperature of 55°C.
Flame detection is one of the specialties of SenseTek.
